Takeout at Egg Haven: Pickup Steps and Tips
Egg Haven has no delivery, but the pickup process is simple. You call, the kitchen cooks, and your order waits at the front counter. This checklist covers what to do before, during and after the call, plus the one charge that surprises first-time takeout customers.
Before you call
- Open the menu and pick your items. The photos on the breakfast and lunch pages show what the plates look like.
- Check the weekly specials if you want something from the board.
- Note the hours: Monday to Saturday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, Sunday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
On the phone
- Dial 863-268-8269.
- Read out your items and any changes you want.
- Ask how long the order will take, especially on a busy weekend morning.
- Give a name for the pickup.
The 10% gratuity
A note on the menu page says that effective September 1, 2023, a 10% gratuity is added to all outgoing orders. The owners explain that it is there so the service worker who prepares the order is paid fairly for the work. They say they regret having to add it and hope customers understand. Keep it in mind when you total up your order.
At pickup
- Park downtown and walk to 301 3rd Street SW.
- Go inside to the front counter and give your name.
- Check the bag before you leave, since you are the only one who knows exactly what you asked for.
